  • 1. Extracting RAR files:
    You are going to need a tool called: WinRAR.
    It doesn't expire, all that happens is you get a 'Nag-Screen' which pops up when you open WinRAR, saying license has expired, or something close to that, but you can still use it ok.
  • 2. OK, you open the .rar file or open any one of the rar files, and then you extract it. Rar files vary in format; they can be .rar, .r01, .r02, .001, .002, and etc... -- What I do is usually extract the .rar file and if it doesn't exist, I open the last highest number rar file and extract that. If you get a message about missing files, you need to go back to your source and get them or re-download (files are easily corrupted)
  • 3. This should extract 2 files for you. A .bin and .cue file. Once, you have your .bin and .cue file, you should delete those rar files now to free up some space.
  • 4. You basically burn from there because bin and cue files are image & cue sheet files that are packed up and ready for burning.
  • 5. Open up Nero's Burning ROM, and go to the option called Burn Image. If you are using a lower version of Nero, it should be under File. My Nero expired, so I'm using alcohol plus it breaks the copy protection. **Alcohol (mount image Sims .MDS/Copy disc with copy wizard)
  • 6. VCD/SVCD: Just burn it and watch it. Note: Some DVD Players don’t play burned CD's. Go check if your DVD played is listed at: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
  • 7. Click here: To burn a bin/cue file
  • 8. Burning PC Games... Open the NFO file with notepad... It's very important that you READ the NFO file. Most big Games require you to install then Copy over the cracked executable located on CD1 in the /crack directory. But I'm not going to get deep into the subject, READ THE @$%^&! NFO FILE!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ***BACK UP PROTECTED GAMES***
    ~The easiest way to back-up/burn your games is to use this method:
  • There is a very simple method of detecting what protection is being used on your games and how to successfully back them up (burn them), Just go to the CD Protection Identifying Tools page and get ClonyXXL, Then go to the CD Burning Software page and get CloneCD. Now use ClonyXXL and scan your original game and it will tell you what protection is being used on it and it will give you the correct settings to use in CloneCD to successfully back-up that game. *Remember, if you experience problems with burning the game at high speeds, (2 speed +) (both the read and write process), then burn the game at lower speeds such as 2 speed and under (both read and write process). A lot of the time burning the game at slow speeds will solve problems of the install not working, or the burner not bypassing the CD's protection.
  • You can also use Alcohol 120% burning software and Alcohol 120% protection scanner to backup your games. Use Alcohol to scan the game. It will then report the protection being used on the game and the correct settings to use in Alcohol 120% burning software to successfully burn a working backup copy.
  • If the above methods don't work, (Usually SecuRom *New* and later versions of SafeDisc 2 protections) then you can try and mount and/or emulate the game using Daemon Tools, this method usually does work. Click here to download the latest version of Daemon Tools.
    a) Ok, you open the .rar file or open any one of the rar files, and then you extract it.   • 2. Extract with Isobuster
  • 3.Use TMPGEnc  ~ converts AVI to MPEG2 (SVCD, DVD) or MPEG1(VCD)/Use 1:1 vga & no borders keep aspect ratio
  • 4.Use TMPGEnc DVD Author ~create menus and stuff
  • total process takes at least an hour and a half.
  • 5. Burn DVD with Nero or alcohol
  • ***DVD back-ups***
    to make back-ups of your DVD’s use the following two tools:
    1.) Any DVD removes copy protection
    2.) DVD shrink & guide: change the target DVD size from 4464 to 4300
  • try refreshing your screen. Go into my computer and hit the f5 key
How to install from bin/cue with
Nero or daemon tools
***NOTES***
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • ***.NFO and .SVF files***
    .NFO files are release group notes, you generally open these up with notepad and you read it to find serial numbers as well. so it's sometimes important not to delete these. .SVF files are just file checking files for crc checking, meaning if you have a checking program, you can double check on file completion or check if the file is corrupt.
  • ***watch the VCD/SVCD movies on your computer***
    once you have extracted the rar files to .bin and .cue, you can use a program called Vcdgear or ISOBuster to open up the .bin file and have it ready for extraction.
  • Vcdgear, Isobuster
    when you convert .bin to .mpg, you have to make sure/add .mpg at the end of the filename because it will just convert to file to the name without an extension so windows will be all confused.
  • ***play SVCD or M2V files on your computer***
    SVCD and M2V files are a higher encoded video format, which uses MPEG2. Windows Media player does not come equipped with the correct Codecs to play these formats. So you need to download a program called PowerDVD, it will install the mpeg2 Codecs on your computer and then you will be able to watch the files on your computer.
EMULATION TABLE I:

EMULATION TABLE I: ENABLE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • With your game inserted select my computer and look at the drive that your game is in, if it says "NEEDS EMULATION" then do as listed,
  • Start Alcohol and go to the Emulation Options.
  • Enable RMPS (Recordable media physical signature) and after clicking ok you can close Alcohol. This is a one of task and you don't need to disable or enable this again.
  • You are now ready to play your backups.
EMULATION TABLE II:
Disable emulation Error
(‘CD/DVD Emulation Software Detected')
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • This error is presented when active CD Emulation software is detected by the copy protection on the game CD. This software must be disabled for The Sims 2 to launch properly. It is very common for CD/DVD copying software to include such software as a suite of products, so you will need to make sure that if your CD/DVD copying software includes such software that it is disabled as well.
  • Below is a list of software that is known as, or known to include CD Emulation Software that could potentially prevent the game from playing properly:
    • Fantom CD Emulator
    • Alcohol 120%
    • Nero Image Drive
    • Phantom CD
    • Clone CD
    • Ark Virtual Drive
    • Veritas DLA
    • If you are unsure about how to turn off emulation settings, consult your emulation program help files. If you have emulation software not listed above that does not provide adequate information about how to turn off emulation to avoid software conflicts, and then remove the software from your machine. Here are a few examples:
      If Alcohol 120% is on the machine:
    • Start Alcohol and go to the Emulation Options
    • Select Emulation from the options tree. Uncheck the Ignore Media Types box to turn off the media type emulation, exit Alcohol 120% and restart the game application.
    • Select Extra Emulation from the options tree. Uncheck the BAD Sectors Emulation to turn off this type of emulation, exit Alcohol 120% and restart the game.
      If CloneCD is on the machine:
    • Look on your task bar at the bottom right of your screen (next to the clock). Locate the CloneCD tray icon, which can be a picture of two CD-ROMs ; or of a sheeps head . Right Click on the icon and make sure Hide CD-R media is un-ticked. Restart the game application.
      If Daemon Tools is on the machine:
    • Select the icon at the bottom of the status bar of windows.
    • Find the Daemon Tools Icon
    • Right Click on the Daemon Tools icon in the Task Bar.
    • Select the Emulation tab.
    • Deselect SafeDisc.
